MDF Custom Paneled Doors

Interior doors have become an intricate part of home design. This has increased demand for more options, functionality and an improved quality of life. With all of the options on the market today, choosing an interior door can sometimes seem like a daunting process. Fortunately, a door material called MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) was created to help streamline the creative process.

MDF is inherently more stable than wood and easily machined utilizing superior routing technology. This makes nearly any design possible while also creating an exceptionally detailed and polished appearance. Door sizes are 80" to 96" in height and 12" to 36" in widths.

This is only a small sample of the endless possibilities of door panel designs that are possible within our Special Order MDF custom paneled door program. For more design ideas or to begin designing/ordering your interior MDF custom paneled doors, please contact MMI DOOR at 1-800-686-9218

MDF Manufacturing

The Finish (Raised Panel, Flat Panel and French)
Multiple designs, species and glass options define the top end of the interior door category. Prices can literally range from $100 per door to over $1000. Even though some wood species can be painted, the majority are stained to showcase their attractive wood grains. The most available species are Pine, Poplar and Oak.

Tenon & Mortise Joint
Molded door skins are made by combining fine wood fibers and resins and then "stamped" into a variety of raised panel designs. Their popularity is due to their value - you get great looking doors for a great price. Molded doors are available in smooth or woodgrain, hollow or solid core and represent one of the best "bang for your buck value" in the industry.

Panels (Medium Density Fiberboard)
MDF doors are an affordable step up from molded doors. They offer a smoother, denser skin (MDF) that results in a higher quality finished product when painted. Most MDF doors are solid core. Product specifications vary by manufacturer but differences are minimal. Design and sizing possibilities are endless in this category which adds to its popularity.
